Private pilot course

Private pilot courses prepare students to pass Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) exams and earn a Private Pilot Certificate. Private pilot training is also the first step in a professional pilot program.

For people who wish to fly for a living but do not want the hassles of working for a giant company, the job of a Private Pilot may be the way to go. Private Pilots - also referred to as charter pilots or corporate pilots - enjoy the benefits of doing something they love and are able to personally interact with passengers as well.

Ground School Course

Before students can begin flying, they need to study flying basics on the ground. Ground school courses explain the scientific principles of flight, aircraft systems and radio operation. Students read aeronautical manuals and learn to complete flight plans and logbooks. They also learn the federal, state and local laws and regulations that apply to private pilot flight.

Tail wheel transition

If you're looking to put some excitement back into your flying, a tailwheel endorsement may be just what you are looking for.

A tailwheel endorsement is a great skill builder and will increase your skill level no matter what you fly. Not only is it unparalleled fun and excitement, but it will make you a better pilot and improve safety, too!

Tailwheel flying is more demanding than flying a tricycle gear airplane because the geometry of a tailwheel airplane’s landing gear is less stable than that of a nosewheel airplane

A Tailwheel conversion is an excellent way to do a biennial flight review or just brush up on your flying skills. Flight training time is not affected by the use of a tailwheel airplane. Conversions from nose wheel to tailwheel requires around  ten hours of flight.

Aerobatic training

Experience the thrill of a lifetime in the cockpit of an unlimited aerobatic airplane!  You set the pace from gentle loops and rolls to hammerheads and tumbles.

Time building plans

There are a lot of ways to build flight time, in an efficient way. Reduce the hurly cost and get the best out of every minute in the air. For more information contact me.

Flying trips

Examples of destination attractions include:

  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (attractions, from authentic cheese steaks to the Liberty Bell)
  • New York City (including aerial views of the Statue of Liberty and Hudson River VFR Corridor)
  • Boston, Massachusetts (may include landings on Cape Cod, Nantucket and/or Martha's Vineyards)
  • Atlantic City, New Jersey (dining, nightlife and casinos)
  • The Chesapeake Bay (rich with nautical and colonial history)
  • The Outer Banks of North Carolina, with beaches, hang-gliding and First Flight Airport, North Carolina and Myrtle Beach
  • The Shenandoah Valley, with beautiful caverns, hiking and camping

Sightseeing and fun flights

A sightseeing flight is a fun way to experience general aviation for the first time.  Great activity for honeymooners, tourists or a memorable first date or anniversary.  It's a lot more exciting than a movie or evening of bowling.  Flights are available anytime except during inclement weather or fog.  It also makes a great gift for a high school or college graduate.

Aerial photography

There is only one thing that aerial photography seldom works for: conveying the experience of being up in the air. When you're sitting up front in a light plane, you look up at a panoramic view of open sky. You look forward and sideways at a 180-degree stretch of horizon. You look down and see interesting features on the ground all around you
